With 3,112 miles completed, I have finally made it to the Black level on Nike+!! Looking back it started with very random runs in 2006 and the mileage kept on increasing over the years. It’s a satisfying feeling inside knowing the goal was reached while running the Coaster 10K this weekend.
I am very satisfied with reaching this level on Nike+ but I’m still like now what?!
I think too many races within the past few months have left on burnout mode. Maybe it’s partly mental but there def isn’t the excitement to do races as in the past. I do still enjoy going out for a run, whether it be hills, challenging, a casual pace or just to clear the mind. So from here on out til I start training for the Chicago Marathon, I will continue casual running on my own terms.
Yoga frequency has definitely increased in 2012. I love learning new poses and conquering those poses that I could not do when I first started doing yoga as a super inflexible person. So my goal by the end of 2012, is to be able to do a proper Chaturanga Dandasana rather than having to put my knees down first.
Feeling strong, but I can only imagine what I will achieve come December 2012!
Spinning for 40 min then 10 burpees with pushups .. Geez.. Burpees I still don’t heart u. It’s alright task completed.

Which stage are your earphones at?
So true! Damn earphones :)
As promised with lent here is my new workout for the week.
First must buy jump rope.. Uh that says warm up. Tbd on that.
*this is just a post to put it in the universe*
During these 40 days no cakes nor cookies nor brownies nor chocolate twist nor pineapple bun or any other sweet relative will be consumed.
*work will suck as its upfront mtg time and all the sweet baked goods come out*
But things shouldn’t always be what not to do.. So I shall do one new workout once a week wether it be jump rope.. Burpees.. A new class at the gym etc.
Well *cheers* to an awesome 40 days.

Progress..Progress..Progress..
Another 10K to add to the books! This race was a little more important since the “fast sister aka my Sunday Running Buddy” was running the race. In my rule book, I give myself a 5 minute handicap since she is tech faster than I, but that is slowly closing as I train a little harder and smarter (I think). *Gasp* This means one day I will beat her straight up!!
Progress comes from last year or even 2 years ago.. of what my times used to be. No one can take these times away from me and when I just want to stop, I shall look back and see how far I have come!
I shall continue with the “Cheryl way of life” as I hope it helps with my training this year for the Chicago Marathon and reaching my 20’s in pants size!! These are some exciting times as I am 90 miles away from the Nike+ black level.

The First race of 2012 - Tinker Bell Half Marathon
My expectations were not that high going into this race. Hills, an extra day of yoga, and I had been running but nothing over 6 miles was what I had under my belt prior to this race.
The course was alright, no big complaints. I think the race was more mental for me, as I really wanted to just walk as I had no intentions of setting a PR. The motto of “Hard work, dedication” (from Dolvett) and “FaithFocusFinish” (from Larry Fitzgerald) came to mind when times got tough. Perhaps it was one of those “good” running days, but in the end new PR of 2:28 :) Never would I have ever thought I could do one of these under 2:30!!
While streching.. UMMM why does that girl’s shirt say 13.2 rather than 13.1? *no words*
Lastly, a job well done to dee running buddy for doing under 3 hrs as well!
On to the next race: Redondo Beach 10K!
